We are rounding out month 2 with our puppy, Eleanore. Ellie for short.
She WANTS to be a good dog, but....she is still a rambunctious puppy :)
Ellie Hates:
- Being Brushed
- Being "patted" -only petting please. Don't you dare pat her on the head!
- The word "no"
- Putting a leash on her (I have to wrestle her every.single.time)
Ellie Loves: (Pretty much everything else that isn't those four things I just listed..)
- Annie's Ice Cream
- Licking toes!
- Chewing cardboard boxes
- Finn :)
- People
- Car rides
- Going for walks (but not so much the leash)
- Jumping on mom when she has nice clothes on...
- Her pool
- Putting her toys in the fire pit in the back yard
- Pretending not to know what "go to bed" means
She has developed quite the personality. With the limited interaction she has had with other people- she seems to like women better than men.
She has lost one of her baby teeth (that we noticed anyways)
Relations with Atticus are...well..about the same if not progressing SLOWLY. Atticus will no longer leave the room she comes into- however he still wants nothing to do with Ellie. However (again), he makes sure that she sees him, so I think that he just wants to taunt her because Ellie WANTS to be his friend. He likes to sit in the doorways of rooms so that he gets to hiss at her when she tries to go through the doorway.
He was sitting in the living room floor one day and Ellie came into the room, got her tennis ball, brought it over to him, dropped it and rolled it towards him with her nose. It was probably the most adorable thing EVER. Of course Atticus didn't appreciate the gesture and hissed and screamed at her. I smacked him for it and he ran away to pout. All the while, Ellie just looked at me like "whats wrong with HIM?"
She KNOWS HOW to: Sit, lay down, get up, shake and dance. Now, whether she will do those on command or not, who knows.
Her pool is the GREATEST THING EVER!!
She just doesn't understand why we won't let her in the house after she rolls around in the pool though.. wet dogs belong in the house, right?
We have had to be gone for a few weekends the past month, and she has done wonderfully with someone else coming and checking on her. She's a mess right now, but I think she will be a very good dog when she is grown.
